A Cozy Cabin Stay in the Middle of Clearville, PA

~ Cabin Camping Recap | Wanderlust | Personal ~

Addison Ridge Cottage Air BnB | Clearville, PA & Bedford, PA | July 8 – 10, 2022

When I start off by saying, this was a getaway we didn’t know we needed… I mean that.
It was about the halfway mark through HVAC busy season for Michael. He was pushing through burn out. I had been home with Arielle mostly full time, and working photography while she slept. We hadn’t really gotten to be together as a family for more than a few hours at night for weeks. I took a leap on a photo lead that was for something I had never done, but what the hey!!! We landed ourselves in the mountains. Nestled in the quiet woods, around absolutely nothing. And it was wonderful.

Addison Ridge Cottage is an Air BnB hosted by the Lentz Family. We had the entire cabin to ourselves. There was a gorgeous fire pit that we roasted marshmallows over and made smores. Arielle really enjoyed all of the toys that they had for any visiting kids. The Jenga was as big as her but it was her favorite thing to play with. We stayed up in the master in the loft. It has a crib AND toddler bed as well as a little walk out with steps that lead back to the front yard fire pit area. The cabin was also BURSTING with NEW LIFE!!! We saw the outdoor cat, but we later discovered she had KITTENS under the porch who would occasionally meow for Mom, whom we named Jerri. There was also a nest with very cute, very fuzzy alien stage baby birds!! It was just kinda sweet to be surrounded by nature families. Arielle and Jerri were pretty much inseparable anytime we were outside.

We went into this trip blind because we had never been to the area before. We went there with the plan of just taking the photos I was taking and the rest of the time, do…..nothing. But, we couldn’t stay cooped up for too long. We HAD to explore. The Clearville-Bedford area is like almost going through a time warp. Things are still very small town, and antique. Like the family style set restaurant Mike’s Place that we went to on Saturday for Brunch; that had a big stuffed black bear that Arielle was SO enamored with. Later that day it was going to storm so we decided to head over to Mann’s Choice, PA to see the Coral Caverns. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in there (bring cash though). The owner and his Son are extremely friendly, and knowledgeable about the caverns. It was a great first cave experience for Arielle, as it was kind of small but still spectacular. After driving around and sight seeing the mountains and the fun abandoned things we hit a local pizza place for dinner, Bestway Pizza. Honestly…best garlic cheese bread I have EVER had. Sunday Morning, we slept in – headed over to Mandy Jo’s Country Corral for Brunch. After brunch we had a little room left for some ice cream from The Igloo. After that I took the photos I needed to take of the Air BnB and then we packed up and headed home.

It was so nice to just take a weekend in nature. We really got to bond as a family and reconnected. Below are the highlights from my camera mostly, but there are a few phone ones in there Lots of cute Arielle and Animal pictures, enjoy!!
