I love when clients come back to me for more, and Ariel SLAYED this session! Ariel was exuding confidence in every outfit. The Barn and the Greenhouse were the perfect Tiny Houses for her vibe!! Her laugh and smile are contagious, we truly had a blast during her session. Ariel is beautiful inside and out, I love her heart. She is so sweet and you can see how she blossomed from her first session to this one – here. It was pouring down rain so we started inside the barn but, we ran out of daylight quick so instead we did a night shoot in the Greenhouse. It was an experiment and it was SUCH A VIBE, I loved it. I wouldn’t mind doing more night boudoir in the Greenhouse …wink wink… I am so excited to share all my favorites below! I always love how colorful Ariel’s sessions are.

I am prefacing this post by saying this couple holds a place in my heart because, they have my late grandparents names, and they were married for 50+ years. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss them, so capturing Rita & John’s love story is an honor.

These two met on Tinder! Rita is in Williamsburg and John is off on the Eastern Shore and they had their first date in Yorktown, and even return often to their favorite Bed & Breakfast there. So for their engagement session, they had the idea of retracing their steps of some of their first date. Starting off at the pier and the beach and slowly meandering around the historical area and up to the historical statue and bed and breakfast homes. We had beautiful blue skies, glowing hazy morning light and slightly warmer winter temps. They are getting married in November in Williamsburg at Rita’s church.

I’m continuing the #SweetheartStories for the month of February. Mindy and Brian were my very first session of 2025 and it went so beautifully. The first snow of the winter season had dusted over Warrenton and the sun was warm and hazy creating a romantic setting for these two cuties! And you can’t go wrong with sun flares! They are getting married at Greenock Manor in late August! And it is going to be a gorgeous day!

Mindy & Brian’s love story started when they were kids, she was 13 and he was 15. They were neighbors in Stafford until Mindy and her family moved away. They did keep in touch every now and then. But, years later Mindy was back in the area, and they reconnected online and started talking and hanging out again. And the rest was history! They have been together for 9 years now! They now have a house and 2 children together. Brian finally proposed to Mindy at the National Botanical Gardens in Chantilly at the highest overlook! Brian led on that he had a crush on her all those years ago when they were teenagers, and says he loved her first. They are getting married 1 week before their 10 year anniversary!!

A Romantic Winter Engagement Session in Norfolk, VA

Katie and John are getting married in LESS THAN 6 WEEKS! I am getting so excited for their wedding! These two had such a sweet engagement session right before Christmas! It was a bitterly cold day but we laughed our way through it! We strolled through downtown Norfolk and it was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. These two met while in collage and graduated from ODU. And John is now in the Police Academy and Katie is on her way to becoming a full time teacher at a local Christian Academy in Norfolk. They are planning to have a big wedding ceremony at their church in Norfolk and a big celebration in Virginia Beach. I couldnt be more excited to capture their wedding day! We recreated their proposal photos since John had ben pepper sprayed for police training the day he set up to propose. He took Katie to First Landing State Park and set out a picnic area with flowers and photos. He asked her to be his wife and she said “YES”, in record breaking time (so I’ve heard)! Then they called their friends and families on FaceTime to share the news! These two are so cute and head over heels for each other and choosing favorites to share from their session was so cute!

I took a break from blogging, but I am BACK! And I am kicking off my 2025 Wedding Blogs, with my last wedding of 2024, and what a special one it was!!! Mo & JB had a very beautiful wedding with a black and gold theme all throughout. Their day was all about celebrating the blending of their two families and their two cultures. Their daughter and their dog were SO CUTE!!! Mo’s family arranged to surprise her with a horse and carriage ride to and from the ceremony site and for photos, which I was of course, extra excited for! After Mo’s first look with her dad they revealed her ride! Morgan and JB had a lovely waterside ceremony during golden hour at Michell Farms. The lighting was absolutely beautiful which faded into gorgeous candy pink sky during portrait hour. Their ceremony was beautiful, Mo’s friend officiated and they were surrounded by friends and family.

The reception was such a fun time! JB’s parents made an authentic Mexican feast for everyone to enjoy with dinner. The dinner was definitely our favorite part of the reception. It was so fresh and delicious! You could tell it was made with love and that his parents had truly cooked all day (muchas gracias de Nuevo) Mo & JB’s reception was mixed with many styles and cultures of music and dancing. I loved their country theme flowed so well together with their nod to Die De Los Muertos. I loved so many images from their day, but here are my favorites from the Baretto Wedding!
